Look....Ive grown pumpkins early in the year, whick were ready in april.....although they stopped growing and ended up very small...I've grown them in the fall and they were ready close to christmas......I want to grow them big and have them ready for October.....I've got 3 kids wanting a patch for the 31st and Im looking for the best variety to grow in the heat. What is the best kind to grow in this extreme heat?

Post on the seed swap area looking for heat loving seeds. There are a few that seem to love being fried. I'm sure someone can hook you up with some, maybe even from here if I get anything this fall.
Be prepared to fight the fight with shade cloth and misters for the worst part of your mid to late summer.

I have been wondering the same thing. I have heard that Urena's seeds do well in hot weather from AutumnLeaf. Some of hot weather growers in California with the best results so far use Glasier's seeds. If you just want something by Oct 31 and don't care if they are giant pumpkins , I would recommend Triple Treat. I planted them in Fresno this year and they developed fast. All of the fruit but one are ready to harvest now. They did fine despite long stretches of 100+ temperatures. You might also want to ask WDB in Phoenix or Brodie in Lousiana what they think will do well in your climate for this late planting.
