The title says it all, fire fighters call it "Hell Visits Okanagan" Glenrosa, Rose Valley, Mission Creek, Knox Mountain and Peachland were all "Warm Up" fires. Now, at the edge of Okanagan's forest area is the biggest fire this year. Dry tree's, 105F+, hail the size of golf balls, lightning and massive wind storms. In one day this fire grew 5000 Hectors putting over 50000 people on evacuation and evacuation alert (I'm one of them) The smoke is so thick many people have to have masks like in H1N1. I can't even take a picture it's so heavy. Pumpkin Growing hardly comes to mind anymore. I'll try to keep more info posted. -Jordan.

Good luck to you and everyone affected by the fires. Pumpkin growing is a hobby, not a requirement for life. It doesn't look like relief is anywhere in sight soon with the weather. I'll say a prayer they can get things under control and you can catch some sort of break with the weather.

Keep safe everyone. We even got that news over here in Ireland, which reminded me of a visit to one of your naval submarines which visited Dublin about 15 years back called ths Okanagan.
