OK, I know that having a pumpkin set on a sidevine is not the best situation but the main vine fruit have aborted or are not growing whatsoever, I might be faced with keeping the one on the sidevine which is quite a ways out from the main, what are some results some of you have got from growing in this disadvantaged position on the plant.

Thanks, Kirk

So far mine is growing slow, I thought it aborted, but after looking at it and tapping it with the back of my finger nail I think it is still alive.

I grew a personal best 915 on a side vine last year, sometimes you have to play the cards you were dealt in this game of pumpkin growing..best of luck

716 on side vine pollinated on 7-21-05. All main vine fruit kept aborting. Harvest was on 9-23 so I make that to be 64 days of growth. I think that one did OK. I think your odds of seeing a decent result are better when it's the only one on the plant when you use a secodary vine.
