An old Italian lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard.
His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison.. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:
Dear Vincent, I am feeling pretty sad, because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over.. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days. Love, Papa
A few days later he received a letter from his son..
Dear Pop, Don't dig up that garden. That's where the bodies are buried. Love, Vinnie
At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left.
That same day the old man received another letter from his son.
Dear Pop, Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances.
Love you, Vinnie

LOL!!!!!
I married into an Italian family and the running joke with my friens is that I'm gonna end up with cement shoes if I upset my wife. So I really appreciate this one.

This is not a joke site!
If this site has degraded to this point maybe I should reconsider.

Bob take a deep breath and relax. In John's joke who knows why the son was in prison. He obviously figured the feds were listening in on his calls so he got them to dig the garden up for the old man, get it? Yeesh.
PS- I too have Italian cousins in Brooklyn and they would find this joke very amusing.

Anyone who posts the progress of their 1000 lbers regularly in their diaries I think is entitled to tell a joke or two. When I break 1000 lbs i'll be sippin' a dark drink and telling jokes all night;)

I agree, it was nice to find a light moment. It's not a common event here...(an occasional joke) as the season is getting very intense also. I have an italian uncle.... and I make a very righteous stuffed mancotti.
Pumpkins... are a reason I need to eat good. Keep that strength up to keep ahead of weeds.

Don't worry about it Bob. Your opinion is as valuable as anyone elses here IMO. Maybe it's best to "don't sweat the small stuff". A clever joke by the way John.
