It also ate the only female on the main vine of a plant I have
So can I expect the main vine to remain the main vine or will the plant grow another main vine?
Thanks

Use the next secondary back and train it as a main. What happens behind is in the past. If there are no females, you need to start from the trained secondary. not too much time left, but worth a try.
Animals always do this to me. If it is not an SVB or a disease, it is an animal looking for a sweet end to munch. If you have a female behind, go with it and hope for the best. I have issues getting out over 10' before someone eats the tip off the main. I need a plastic bubble.

I found another female today off of a secondary vine so I think I'll be OK

.22 cal. = equals a little bit of vittles with the veggies.
