Anyone else have a blossom that points down a bit? Last year this happened to me and the blossom end opened up...so I attributed it to a thin blossom end, and the thinness contributed to the collapse of the blossom downwards.
I have one fruit this year that looks similar. Anyone have this and not lost the fruit due to blossom end problems?
I have gotten soil tests (tons of Ca) and a tissue test (quite deficient in Ca) but am spraying twice a week heavily with CalciMax...one foliar and one drench.

Jordon, I have one thats pointing upwards big time, its a star shaped pumpkin and the stem wants to grow towards the ground. Usually you can try correct this by re positioning the pumpkin when they are younger, but this one just doesnt want to cooroperate(sp?), its gonna grow the way it wants to no matter what I try,,lol,
I'm also a little worried about the blossom end on this one, I never had one point twards the air that is also sunken in like this one is. But on the good side of it Jordon, I have seen some crazy shaped pumpkins at weigh offs before with blossom end pointing down or up and they made it fine. Just gotta pray and hope for the best.

Yeah, no doubt. I am spraying alot of Ca to help thicken that end up. I culled one that was 48" around to see what it looked like on the inside and the blossom end was 2.5" thick, so if the other one is like this, shouldn't be a problem.
