Thomas and Hoot, I don't belive your fruit aborted. The pollination was succesful if the fruit reach softball or beachball size MOST OF THE TIME. Something else happend to your fruit. But I just can't belive your fruit reached 300 pounds and the pollination didn't take.

I teach masonry at a reform school. Last fall one of my students asked me if it was possible to survive an abortion. The student next to him replied of course it is, your living proof of it. A donnybrook then followed. Both of them were over 200 lbs and one resembled a beachball.

Agree with SC.

All fruit can stop growing...but if it makes it to 200 or 320 lbs, I wouldn't consider it an abort. The plant just couldn't grow the fruit anymore....something was probably missing.

Thanks for the replies

Good info

I had a Big Max plant stop growing last year at 16 pounds during a drought

But when I harvested it had viable seeds
