I know most of the guys up in the NY area aren't wanting any, but its been more then 10 days since I had a good ground soaking rain and the extended 10 day forecast doesnt show any in sight!,, The heavy rains last week just missed me, I didnt even get a drop, dark skies all day but no rain. Id like to have a good ole fashion ground soaking with no hail or wind...nothing beats a good rain.
Hows everyone else on the rain?,, need any or not?

We were short on rain earlier in July, but we got a bunchlast week and again last night. My patch is now totally saturated and I am worring about disease problems cropping up becasue of it. Forecast does look like a few dry days ahaead.

The problem here is temps. The last two weeks have seen a lot of nights down into the 40's, some nights in the low 40's. Pumpkin growth has been slow with the cold temps, I've had the smallest day 10-15 measurements I've ever had. This should be the warmest time of the year but its just not happening and the forecast doesn't look that much better.

Rain, what's that? Brooks we have had five rains now, nothing to amount to anything on two of them. A lot of the rest were saying multi inch rains, I'm overjoyed to get a quarter inch. I almost feel like sprinkling nutmeg out there as the heat has been August in July already.

Brooks, you can have all of our rain, we've had one of the coldest and wettest June's on record. And guess what we have scheduled for tonight, yup more rain. Good thing about today is high of 82 not 72. That's a huge improvement.

Brooks, rain would be nice... but I can at least water.. Unfortunately, these COLD nights are killing our season. The fruit are just sitting there not growing. We have been in the mid 40's several nights the last week and not much warmer predicted Jim R

More rain in Denver this year than I can remember. Some real pounding rains and a little hail. Its been good to get the humidity up but I'd rather have almost no rain at all Brooks. It is easy to add the water but it is really hard to take it away.

I control the rain with my sprinklers. Nothing but record low temps here in eastern PA.

I'll take some warm weather instead of the rain, mornings have been 41 to 45 all but one day this last week.

Rain has been spotty here in central MN. Fortunately we've been getting good rainfall here....when areas nearby are missed. Temps. are on the cool side for this time of year. It seems my plants and pumpkins are growing slow because of this.

I would take hot and dry to the rains we have had here this season. You can always irrigate, bitch when it's too much. Be happy with what you have.

We got just enough to knock the dust down for 12 hours on Sunday. Washington state has gone into it's summer drought mode, but started it in June this year. I have the soaker hoses going daily and the whizzers start spinning this weekend. Green river is running lower than I've ever seen in in the 15 years I've lived here.

Brooks i understand your problem, but here for the month of June I had 16.5 inches of rain. since the 1st of July I have had 6 more inches of rain it rained yesterday and it's raining right now I have also had 2 rounds of quater size hail. My plants are waterlogged and beaten into the ground my season is just about over. I have 1 plnt that may make it, but I no longer have any males on any other plants so it will have to be a self I guess. So be careful what you wish for it may be more than what you want. Dennis

I would rather have no rain and water myself! You can make up for a lack of rain by watering. How would one make up for too much rain. Shop vac the patch? Maybe those big rubber squeegee things? grow indoors? As a matter of fact, it is pouring here right now.
