One of my first sets was a 4 lober. I also have 5 and 6 lobers set. Is the number of lobes an indication of the final pumpkin size?

In general, yes. But you can still grow a huge one with 4 lobes, so go with the fastest growing, healthiest appearing pumpkin. If all other things are equal, go with more lobes.
