Howdy! Just curious if other people are having the same issues...I was checking over the diaries and one other person mentioned this. I have been trying to set on the MV since 6/20 and they all get to about 15" and then stop, not making the day 10 mark..I've tried different pollinators also. I think the MV will soon end up in the Mississippi River as it is very very long now...the good news is that one I pollinated on 7/9 so far looks better than the others...so cross your fingers! :-)
Note: I am also growing the 1385 Jutras, 1566 Rodonis, 1272 Brunst, 1689 Jutras, 1290 Poirier, 1087 Bhaskaran, 985 Werner and 1161 Rodonis...these all set ok.

Alright seriously Dave. I constantly hear of guys bragging about sets out in the 20++ FOOT range, but c'mon....Mississippi? I've never ever heard of anyone claiming to have a 50 MILE main vine!!!! :)
I thought 15" at D10 was the mark!

Ahm, you didn't meet Fat Fred (last year). I swore that thing was going to get a vine to the back deck to raid the beerfridge. (It got about halfways!)(It did run one more than 40' and drop an 80# in the mock orange bushes on the one side of the pond! I didn't find it until I cleared weeds after patch clear)
I learned. No More Jungle Pattern!!!!!

Ok...probably good I didn't post if anyone is having short stems on their 904 Stelts also....not sure where that would have lead us! LOL.
I know of a few MN growers having problems with the 1568 also...was just trying to find out if others were in same boat?

Dave, I paid big bucks for a 1568 seed and it never germinated! At least you got a plant!

Dave, I will be measuring at the 10 day mark tomorrow on my 1568. I was feeling good about my chances in our neighborhood contest.....until this evening. I checked on the plants after work and found a long stem split on my 9 day old 1568. It's not into the fruit yet, but it doesn't look good. It may be a 100lb fruit that takes home all the marbles.
