Okiegal, and the rest of the gang, you saved my season. What can I expect from this pumpkin in the end providing all goes well from here on out? I'm not sure the diary pic has loaded yet but the 'lil guy is 30" I'm not sure when they stop growing here in Ohio. Pollinated around the first of July.

Just Bill....i'm on the northern loop of I275, please don't come sabotage my pumpkin.LOL
My pumpkin is the A.G I bought seeds at a local garden store, no known genetics, package had variant sizes of seeds, I used the largest. The plant only has about 170 leaves on it right now but still growing rapidly. I have 6 side shutes and several more have started over the last 2 weeks. The main vine is 30 feet and growing the fastest of all the others. My two major set backs were burning the leaves with my first application of insecticide/funguside, I used what the garden center recommended, the label states for use on fruit trees and shrubs and I used a sprinkler can instead of a sprayer (dummy) They did not die, but the new growing leaves are deformed now that they have grown. If I should use something different, somebody please let me know. The other set back was the borers, I have confirmed the kills (5 total, 2 on the main vine with the pumpkin) I cut the second runner out at about 10 feet and buried it. The damage from the borers on the main vine looked to be minimal, the second vine suffered more damage but nothing like I have seen from pictures. I cut another borered runner off that was close to the stub, it looked pretty bad. The pumpkin before the borers was averaging over 3" a day. The last two days after "surgery" it has grown just 4 1/12".
