Am I the only member of the club this year?
Here is the pumpkin growing on the 1055 Jutras:

I've got a decent "V" in the vine and I'm going to move it over little by little and also start lifting the vines on each side. Any other suggestions?

Now Now Now, Eddy, that only matters if they add a wet shorts contest to a weighoff.
As it is my other half is living down ordering me OUT of a wet teeshirt the day I had to 'adjust sprinklers' for quite a while in 112f.... Never tell your better half she isn't wet teeshirt material anymore, guys, ever! Directly or indirectly...

Not gonna post what I was going to write! Sorry Okie.
My 938 last year had an extremely short stem. It was 1149Pukosx1423Wallace. Not sure where or how that stem was so short, but it survived up to 938 pounds. It was pretty scary. This year, stem seems to be ok.

Mike I think the best thing to do with that pumpkin is to end the main at the pumpkin. Then grow the sides around the pumpkin. I grew my 1507 last year that way and plan on doing at least half of my pumpkins that way this season. Joe

Mike, if you plan to keep both sides of the main do cut those node roots in both directions more so than normal and sooner the better. I'm afraid she might still grow back on her MV either way?

@ jj604 : I also have to cut the main vine behind the pumkin. can i cut it direct behind the stem or is it better to leave a short piece ( 5 inches or so ) of the vine ? Thanks Benny
