Subject: Wilted leaves in hot sun

My second runner has leaves that wilt on hot days, is it advisable to just stop this runner by cutting it off so the plant won't stress? Or..maybe some dark colored mulch to absorb the radiating heat since they are close to the ground?

Rig it some shade or take more measures to cool the plant especially that side. Unless your plant is large enough....

Thanks, i've been shading it and it does work, I was just hopeing for less work. These things take more care than I anticipated. It's fun though!

YES, it consumes you. Wilted leaves were from vine borer, found the sucker, now I have to look for signs of more.
