Has anyone ever noticed a correlation between the shade of yellow of the female flower's baby pumpkin and the color of the final fruit? Does brighter yellow or darker yellow give any indication of the pumpkin's final color?

You never can tell 100%, but I would say more often than not, the stronger the yellow color, the darker orange will be displayed later on.
Some of the really nice orange pumpkins have vines and leaf stalks that are even yellow. Just the leaves and new growth tips are green.
Sometimes there are dark green vines that will throw dark orange fruit too, it just seemes like more often the yellow leads to more orange.

Thanks for restoring my confidence in alleged orange genetics with your comment about green vined, orange producing plants. I have two such plants that have the greenest vines in the patch. The seeds were chosen to grow orange pumpkins. I was getting worried lol
