Hi! My name is Jen Sharkey and I am looking for some "stunt pumpkins" to be in a TV commercial I am working on that has a pumpkin carving scene. I am hoping that some of you may have some random pumpkins you might be willing to part with--perhaps the runts in your giant pumpkin patch? I'm looking for small medium and large pumpkins, but mostly halloween carving sized pumpkins. If anyone has anything I might be able to work with PLEASE contact me. You can email me pictures-- [email protected] --or call me in the office to chat: 212.741.0288.
***I would need them to be shipped to NYC by next week (Tues, July 14th at the latest) and we will pay $$$ for your wonderful out-of-season pumpkins!***
Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated...I have only found three tiny pumpkins so far! Thanks very much!

Somebody in say, Florida, could have a nice side business by growing good looking pepo pumpkins on sand, so they look good on film, and have them ready for production schedules.

TV folks do this every year. Just because a client wants pumpkins even before pollination doesn't mean their money can get one. Unless they'll accept common field pumpkins???

Yeah - the Louisiana growers have some harvested already. As for me I have a 22 pound that I culled but you'd have to paint it orange. It's only light yellow.

I did end up finding a grower in central California who had some halloween carving style pumkins--which was a total relief! People I talked to in the North East and Central US were like, yeah right! It seemed like I was about to be at the center of a huge clusterf*ck! BUT, when there's a will, there's a way! And someone from Louisiana offered me a giant pumpkin (200-600lbs) which I would have loved to see in person and I would have also loved to see the giant FedEx bill to go along with it!!!
Well, thanks to the giant pumpkin fanatics who have chimed in to try to help me out--I appreciate it. And I have been inspired by this giant pumpkin subculture--it's very cool what you guys are up. I live in Manhattan so the only place I could grow my own giant pumpkin would be the fire escape! That would be something. ;)
If anyone does have a couple random pumpkins I am still looking for a few more so email me a picture: [email protected]
Good luck with your pumpkins!
Jen
