Met Lenny the other day. He was back in the area visiting some of his relatives. He took the time to walk through my pumpkin patch and share some of his wisdom and past experiences. Very fun to talk with someone with his experiences and general knowledge. The funniest thing was when he asked me if I knew of this guy that goes by the name of Pukos. I said I had heard of him,:) Joe if and when you read this let Lenny know that I will continue to utilize the s curve on the plant he showed me on.

Hi pap--I second your comments,he was certainly a leading force in his time and did several things (OTT tables for one) that helped to advance the AG hobby--Al Eaton

Jim, Who the heck is Len Stellpflug? lol! I’m sure the “s” curve will work out just perfect for you. Pap, I too first met Len at the WPC weighoff in Collins, NY, but not until 1994. I had read about Len, the heavy hitter, in the first edition of How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins. When I found out he was growing only 10 miles from me, it was like a dream come true. He helped me out a lot in my early years of growing. Hopefully, he’ll get that urge to grow again sometime soon and stick in some pumpkin and squash seeds. He’s a great friend and I miss not seeing him at the weighoffs. Joe Pukos
