Howdy everyone, newbie here, I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico and am trying to break the state record this year. The pumpkins are looking good but now I am wondering what to do or where to take it this fall to get the weight certified or recorded?? If anyone has any information on who I might contact it would be greatly appreciated. This is my first year growing giants. Thanks! DannyO

Find a certified scale probably at a FedEx or other bonded freight carrier. Work with them & your region's GPC rep or local growers club. Have multiple witnesses. Maybe a local ag school or county ag agent too. Try to also find a notary public to have on hand.
Take pictures of the fruit on the scale & try to include yourself & the smiling witnesses in some of the pictures.

We're also running one here in the OK panhandle (across border is Clayton NM) Oct 17th... GPC sanctioned. Five State Cimarron Weighoff. If you have a late season one, bring it over. You can weigh a state record anywhere that can be certified or any GPC sanctioned weighoff even if it's not in your state. Good luck on getting the record for NM.
