Gypsum isn't even close to Calcium Nitrate. It doesn't contain any Nitrate Nitrogen. We get Cal-N from an ag-coop.
I'll check the price but shipping a single bag isn't an option.

Hey Brooks, you crack me up brother. What is your personal best....is it 1400 or 1500??

Nic....ahhh...I better not.....Brooks taught me better!

Brooks, I use the Calcium Nitrate for early Nitrogen and I guess the Calcium is just a bonus cause that is not what I use it for.

Nutri-Cal is Calcium Nitrate in water that is mixed with TOG (Polyhydroxy Carboxylic acids). TOG is an organic acid that serves to chelate the calcium which makes it more plant available.

TOG is also added to Calcitic Limestone by Solu-Cal which I also sell bagged. We use Solu-Cal in our patch every year. It supplies calcium to the plants much faster & more completely than conventional liming materials. However Solu-Cal does NOT contain any Nitrogen.

SO...........

If you do want Nitrogen use Calcium Nitrate (granular) or Nutri-Cal (liquid).

If you don't want Nitrogen & do want quickly available Calcium then Solu-Cal granular is it.

We use & recommend Solu-Cal preplant then a Nutri-Cal copy now that the plants are growing. The liquids aren't engineered to correct the soil but are useful for correcting plant deficiencies.

And "no" we haven't grown any 1400 pounders either. Our guerilla patch doesn't have water, electricity or cloches so our PB is still 853. We're rather backward in that respect. LOL

Thanks for that info Tremor, one of the reason I have grown a few big ones is because of your help, no luck in that respect,,Just luck that I found a buddy like you that can give me alot of info when ever I need it ,,lol.

And your right about Larry, he doesnt post often but when he does you know when he posts that you might want to listen,,lol. He also has gave me numerous pointers that I have used and kept in my memory bank through out the years, well the memory bank I have left anyway,,lol
