well my largest AG plant has finally gotten out about 16 feet. Yesterday AM, to my surprise, a 3-lobed female opened at about 12 ft out. No males on this plant right now so I grabbed one off the neighboring one and "did the deed". There's another out at about 15' that I hope is a 4-5 lober. We shall see. How long before I know if it is set? I imagine I'll see it growing soon.

BTW, my wife was not at all impressed when I told her I just had "pumpkin sex" out in the patch. LOL

Unless your SO grows too, they never understand punkinporn.

Don't keep the 3 lober. You should be bagging them the day before and doing the deed with 'unsullied' pollen and an untouched female (bees and bugs are very good at messing up things, ehehehe)

I find people get quite fascinated when you explain the pumpkin sex (just ingore the strange looks they give you). I still haven't lived down the time I had to leave during a course for my master's degree to do the deed.

charlie the first time is always a bit difficult. your not sure who is suppost to do what.
you hold the tiny male in your little hand as you quiver in anticipation of the moment.
then all of a sudden bango -- you throw caution to the wind and drop pollon on her tiny lobes.( we need those t-shirts badly )
after which ? you relax with a smoke and a cool dring, savoring the accomplishment.
