The males I pick each morning don't seem to have pollen before I go to work. I have been picking them and putting them in the fridge. I get up at 5;00 am and put them in warm water and put them in my green house under my 500 watt halogen light with my heater on in the green house. My last female that I pollenated, the temp was 36 degrees in the mountains above Seattle. I had to put a heater on my female while I was waiting for my males to warm up. Any Ideas if my thinking is right, Jerri- Bull Taco

Sounds good to me. When I used to leave for NY before 5AM I would set the males (collected the night before) on the open over door set at the lowest setting. By the time I was ready to leave the male pollen had risen. The girls would be ready enough.

don't put them in the fridge overnight would be my suggestion, room temp and under a light early AM you should see better pollen

heater on those chilly females is a great idea if you have to leave b4 the sun can warm them up,,dang 36°

I agree w/ unka...no fridge!!! I pick males the night b/4 bring em in the house...put them in a E facing window...so they will get early morning sunshine...they open w/ the sun!!! If needed earlier, a lil heat & light will help! Making them colder during the night, I would think will slow them down!!! Peace, Wayne
