Guys, I know most of us are dealing with really bad weather, some have temps in the 90's, some have had summer storms that tear you patch up, some have even had hail. To me the weather in the South, is the most unpredictable, it's 102 degrees on my porch and the 1279 Bartlow is wilting. My funds this year called for Ferts and Fence. So no shad cloth or misters were put up THIS year, I plan on getting them in the future. We have had days that two inches of rain fell in 45 Minutes, Tornadoes are prevalant in this area, there were several of those. HOWEVER saying all this there is somebody, somewere that's weather is worse than mine(can't imagine). These are the things that keep deep southers growers from reaching BIG NUMBERS. But we will drive on. Sempri Fi, DO or Die!!!!!

Weather has been unpredictable here also. Astronomical rain totals for late May and June. Thunderstorms and now dry and HOT! But like you said, a lot of growers are having it much worse. Gotta love Mother Nature!

Was nice, but then pow 105/66 with 18%. Not going to drop below 92 for the next ten days. Rough to grow pumpkins

108 today. Glad we had some pollinate early on the main plant because it looks like we're done setting new fruit for this year. Females on my backup plant are shrivelling before flower even ups up for pollinating.

103 for Sunday...Same here glad we got our pollinations set too. New females are doing the same for us, turning yellow and dying right away, even with misters to cool them.

Plant a resin chair over that female as soon as you find her, that bit of shade does a lot.... and leave her shaded for up to a week or so until hopefully you make it and she's ready to be pollenated. My .00000002 cents worth ...

Just one thing to try, try shading the area of new pumpkin as soon as you can see it & keep shaded for several days before its ready to pollinate , I have experimented & noticed a higher success rate of then looking good before there even ready if shaded way before !! & i use a pvc rectangle thats on pvc legs , its 70% & aprox 3ft x 4 ft

Similar situation, man that 80 degree first half of june was great for pumpkin growing! These last couple days of 105 plus have been brutal and it doesn't seem to be going away.
