96 here with the heat index at 104, it has been over 90 for the last 4 days with more heat to come. alot of the vine tips and new leavs are getting burned. The plant as a whole looks fine after the sun gets lower in the sky. I made a second pollination on the 1041 today with a 664 liggett at 15.5 feet, the first one didn't take.

I'll gladly take it, just do NOT send it COD, I *will* refuse charges.
It's so hot and dry here the sparrows have canteens and so do the tumbleweeds. The gas station tied old pottmitts to the pump handles! Every morning I have to sweep up the dust off the sheets and add water to make the farts go off like they should...
(gas station is indeed true!)

Thank you for that email, you know who you are, about getting some of that powdered residue. I think Homeland Security'd get on me for mailing something like that.
It's supposed to be this hot here in another six weeks or so, not NOW when I'm trying to set!!!!!

It was close to record highs here also and I hadn't gotten enough water on the vines...so burnt up most of the MVs...I watered a lot more before the 95 degrees today and did ok....pumpkins don't really like it that warm....just warm nights...at least with my sandy soil! :-)
