Hello All!

Been lurking for some time, learning LOTS!

Sometime yesterday (late or last night) something chewed all six of
my plants off at the base.

One plant (of six) remains, but vine is badly chewed. None of the
plants eaten, just chewed off. Could spend all day speculating, but
more importantly, what now??

I'm willing to give it another go, realizing I won't win any contests,
just pride on the line now!

I'm wondering if I can find six seeds somewhere (I'm in Montville,
Ohio) I can try again. Willing to send SASBE to any who can help.

OR should I plant a corn crop and call it till next season?

P.S. Thought about posting pics, but figured
moderators might find them to alarming
(and horrific) for family oriented forum.

I'm a photo screener. If these is nothing perverse we'll let it fly.

You can try to bury the rest of the plant so it roots and maybe survives.

I would try to salvage the one remaining plant and go to early sweetcorn or a cover crop for the rest. Those plants can grow a bunch of leaves and vines in a hurry and you might salvage something. The culprit might have been a ground hog. Electric fence and fox or coyote urine as a repellant may prevent this in the future.
