Seems my next attempt to pollinate my 1028* will be at 20'. What do you think my chances are for a big one at that distance? (Provided I don't snap this one off too).

Erin, That's a good question. It seems there is a minimum distance on the main for a big one, maybe there is a maximum distance as well. If so, we could call that the "sweet spot" on the main.

It's called reverse sandbagging Chris. My mains are really only 3 ft long.

Come on Erin, I've seen your pics. "Boom Boom" is Haida Indian for "Sandbagger".

Wow Larry, thank you for that! I'm beginning to feel like there is hope. I was worried that you can get too far "out there". Why I should worry about that, I dunno. . . I'm pretty far "out there" anyway. . .lol

DON'T PULL THE PLANT ! Just cut out a 5 foot section about mid way then use some vine glue to reattach it then you'll be a 15 feet . PERFECT !

erin...just bend the main around and grow 5 feet longer...then you'll be a perfect 15ft from the stump.

Thanks for all your help guys! Once it grows from 4' (it grew a foot since this post) to 20' do I bend the main back after I've cut the 5' off and it's healed or before? Oh, and do I wait until after I pollinate to pull it, or just not polliate and pull it after I've cut the 5' off bent it back and healed it?

I think the correct answer involves a vice of some sort. ;-0
Gee, my mains don't get out to 20 feet, not even by the end of the season!
