can anyone tell me why my main snapped off and a few of the secondaries?too much nitro or too much rain.?they seem very rigid to the touch.or is it a lack of sun.planning to stop fertilizing for awhile.

I had that issue a couple of years back. It was due to the fertilizers I was using.

All of the above Roger. Also certain genetics like to "sky" more than other so these can be tricky to lay down even if it's hot. Factor in the cool weather & these genetics can be very challenging.
Lemme guess...is there 723 Bobier in the line?

Roger, I had the same thing happen to me last year. I thought that I had caused it with to much Nitrogen. Because of this, I have not added any ferts to my plants this year. Yesterday I went out and noticed that I had a few of my vines that were getting ready to burst. I had one secondary snap off because I barely touched it. It has to be from to much rain. The plants cells are so full of water that they become rigid and brittle. Lets hope for some drier weather.

Definitely too much rain. My 1207 yestreday lost its back main and a secondary due to me barely touching it. I have been doing this quite some time and never had such tight, brittle vines before. I wont touch a vine for a few days (well, maybe tomorrow) unless we get some good dry weather and the plant gets its vital signs back to normal.
