can anyone tell me why my main snapped off and a few of the secondaries?too much nitro or too much rain.?they seem very rigid to the touch.or is it a lack of sun.planning to stop fertilizing for awhile.

this is the time when the plants have tons of energy with more and more leaves and roots and certain plants will want to go straight up and snap. happened on my 1185 early this week on the main and tonight when i came home from fathers day all my secondaries on the 1185 looked like cobras waiting to strike. i got them back down with out a snap. it is a constant struggle to keep the vines down, but my luck have it, the only vine snap that happened on the plant was the main snap. retrain a secondary to be the new main and adjust all vines with bamboo morning and night carefully. if you have not pruned the tertiary before the secondary snap, use it to be new secondary. you can fill in the gap by letting a tertiary on a neighboring secondary fill out the space too. the 6" of rain i got last week has also got the plants loaded with energy right now and is a major contributer to this, but the other 2 plants do not "boner up" anything like the 1185. some plants like the 845 bobier were known for this tendency, so if you can keep them in check, maybe that 845 gene is strong in your plant and good luck will follow.
