We have received nearly perfect rains this year. But north and south of us they have been pounded. A big storm yesterday had high winds, hail and heavy rain but turned north just as it got to the county line. Another big one went off to the south last evening. We maybe got 1.5" total yesterday, but some areas got up to 5".

We're getting soaked here too. All at once. Friday and again today several inches of rain, and still raining non-stop. I'll be thankful for the warm-up next week in the 80's and hopefully drier. Doesn't help in the process of opening the pool either. Can't quiet get the chemicals in before it rains again! YUCK!

I haven't had to watered my plants for two weeks cause the rains been coming in good intervals and in good amounts. And like Iowegian I've been lucky enough to have dodged the worst of the storms.

Here in Pocatello we have already set an all-time record for a month, and it's only the 20th! Just over 4 inches for the month.... doesn't sound like a lot for most of you, but we only average 12 inches a year. Our soil isn't equipped for all this rain. I can't complain too loudly... the plants are very happy, but growing slowly because it's been so cool.

I am guessing that we here have gotten over a foot of rain since the beginning of may. The lake where I fish about 15 miles from my house is 1 foot from the high water mark. It is normally about 5 or 6 feet the HW mark. The thing is that they have been dropping it to make power quite a bit this past couple of months.

Christine, what you could do about the pool is take some water out. Then if you know you are getting pounded with rain, go heavy on the chemicals and you should be good. I used to be in the pool business. I will admit, I know a whole lot more about pools than pumpkins!

Yesterday, 0.60", and did my vines take off. I figured the whole system was aimed at Don and that saved him getting another six inches when it got to Iowa... We might be at about 4" for the year now... oh well, today in the mid 90's again.
