Hope you Circleville guys faired ok in the storm, I seen where some tornado's touched down Atwood lake, (about 3 hrs from me). Right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed and looks like I might get lucky that it doesnt hit me to hard, seems like the storm is staying on one side of I70 and Im hoping it stays on that side!!

There's ropes of clouds just springing into existance and aimed at us today. One came head on (10 mi wide and 120 mi long!)

Our bad weather like this is usually the first two weeks of May, what gives??? Let the vines get big enough to be a PITA to cover THEN the weather???

Sigh. Gonna be a long year. So far a lot of others elsewhere have had it a lot worse than me, so good luck everyone.

went out last night at about 2am to check the patch after the 2 hr downpour , wind and rain,,, even with the wind breaks I had up I still got hammered hard, lost a bunch of leaves on the mains of a bunch of plants, dirt washed completly out frm under some of my plants with nothing but roots showing. I got my work cut out for me getting my patch back in order,,, sucks!.,lol

sorry about running off the mouth in the post,, but its my day off today, so its ether bore you with a post or be out in the patch sinking in 4 feet of mud,,,HA!,
Weird thing about all the damage I received from the storms last night, is the plants that wasn't protected from the wind compared to the plants that had practically the wind protecting force fields around them, the unprotected ones is the ones that faird the best,,lol.

50 % of my plants where hit really hard,,, the most damage I have ever received from a storm before. But all I can do is go with it, and laugh about it I guess. I always put that in the back of my mind at the start of every growing season, that there is ''ALWAYS'' going to be a few bads to deal with growing these pumpkins, always. The bad will happen every year you can count on that,,, LOL.

When I think back to last year and how Tom Bohicas plants where just about destroyed, where almost every leaf was gone off his plants and how he came back like he did, it kinda puts your mind at ease on how these plants will always bounce back.

again sorry for rambling, on and on and on,,,LOL

The heavy rains are digging trenches at my new patch site. Thank goodness my plants are SO small that there is limited plant damage.
