Is it safe to still use round up as long as you do not get it on your plants? Another question. I was using a different insecticide last year, but just bought sevin. This can be directly applied to the plant right? I have not used it yet!

Roundup is OK in the patch if you're careful to not cause any drift. Young vine tips are sensitive all chemicals.
Follow the rate on the Sevin & only apply after sundown.

You can easily make an anti drift attachment ...use a 1 gallon milk jug..cut it 1/3 off...duct-tape it to the nozzle and then keep it low to the ground when spraying...Works good for me! Mark

Great idea. Solo, Cooper, etc all make herbicide shields they charge considerably for. Marks idea is probably just as effective & much cheaper.
