I’m growing two plants this year and neither of them are growing any secondary vines. Does anyone know what could cause this? I’ve heard that extreme heat will cause this but our weather has not been abnormally hot.

Max-plant is about 5 feet long. Maybe I am panicking too soon but my plants have always started putting out secondaries by now. Frank-Got your e-mail thanks for the advice! Trailor-I've gotten 3 soil tests this offseason and tweaked my soil just right. Don- Maybe I did bury the main too soon. I'm going to unbury the areas where the secondaries should be tonight. Maybe they'll come out eventually, I hope!

My Pitura plant just started producing secondarys yesterday. Is about 6.5' out now and the secondarys are really coming on strong. I was wandering if it was going to start or not. I think some plants just take a little bit to get wound up. just my 2 pennys though, theres alot of growers more knowlegible than me on here. Rick
