Its the second true leaf and its growing under were the main would fall..its kinda restricting it from coming down because the main is being proped up by the leaf stalk..do i cut at this early stage or try to train the leaf off to the side and let the main sit up on the stalk??

Eliminate any risk to the main now by cutting off the leaf stalk. A friend recently had the same problem, kept the leaf and the main kinked on him. Not a death nell, but who wants to think what could have been? Best of luck!

If you have to ask the question, then you already know the answer.

What if the vine is already down and running? I have a leaf starting from under the main, the leaf stalk kinked but the main is fine. Should I cull it?

This is my second year and my second year with that problem. I got the vine to sit down last year. I haven't decided whether to sacrifice the leaf yet this year. I do know its aggravating.

THE BIG, I had the same problem this year with TWO of my plants, The leaf under the main was like a kick stand. North Shore and Brooks helped me out and I cut the leaf. I then mound some dirt under the main and it came down within days. Check my diary out and you will see what I'm talking about.
