Can anyone recommend a good one? I'm looking for a programmable one, hopefully with 2 or three zones. I saw one at Home Depot today that might do the trick, but I thought I would check here first.

I have some nice ones by Ace Hardware, easy to program, run two seasons on one battery. You can program it to run every 2, 4 8 12, 24 or 48 hours. I'm not sure what you mean by 2 or 3 zones, tho.

Andy We got a 6 zone timer on http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Hunter-Pro-C-Series-3-Station-Indoor-Controller-Timer-s/83.htm It works great and I would recommend it. You can even get a relay that will start your pump when you open your valve. We opted to get a pressure pump though. System work great. Let me know if you have any questions. They also have other timers with a different number of zones.

The battery operated Melnor Aqua Timers are great for what they are. Cheap, easy to program, flexible program & durable.
$40 at Home Cheapo.
