I am growing a 1163 Revier plant. It's vine is about 3.5 feet out. However, I am having severe problems with drooping leaves.

Normally, misting will solve this problem, but there is little response by this plant to misting. Additionally, the drooping starts anytime the temps rise above about 70 degrees, which is a low temp. for leaves to be drooping The plant is getting plenty of water. Soil is moist but not damp.

The plant is not developing as quickly or normally as the others, but looks healthy.

What are some of the other possibilities that cause drooping leaves. What are some other solutions.

Thanks!

Too much fertilizer. Are you really fertilizing heavily trying to push out some early growth? Or maybe some sort of root rot, I had a watermelon that would wilt every day in the sun, it had some rot on the stem where it meets the soil.

Luckily it outgrew the problem and is now fine. Just some ideas.

water away from the plant in a circle at the outside of the leaves(extends roots), water it heavy and let it go for a day in between (your misters still on), shade it if necessary, as soon as you have vines big enough to bury and you get more roots growing it may be fine

some plants just droop,,,my findings

I second unkadan, some plants just droop. MY 1014 holland is the same way this year. It just likes to droop and even wilt at times even with misters on in 70 to 80 degree days and sun. I am burying as many vines as possible, as soon as possible. I will partially shade cloth the plant too with misters on. MY soil report was pretty high in all nutrients, so it might contribute, not sure.

I would say slow roots, water it good and wait. Did you work up the to much befor you planted the plant?
