I'd first carefully go through the patch and dump any adult cuke beetle in a bucket of soapy water. Then check for eggs under every leaf. Then, very carefully apply something that would be effective at keeping them off your plants. (Neem?)

they must be johnston beetles returning from there winter vacation. we sprayed a couple days ago and wall-la found a few dead bugs on the leaves withing an hour.
merit as a spray on plant only is the most effective - ( i do not reccomment it as a drench because it will kill microbs and good bacterial in the soil -etc.
it can be obtained from rosecare.com.
