When do you guys know it is time to remove hoops during June?

When early season winds calm down?
When plants outgrow them?
When nighttime temps are above 60?

I usually leave mine on until the plant outgrows the hoop house.

do you mean "outgrow" as in the side vines start reaching out touching the plastic or all the leaves around the stump touch the plastic?

I usually wait until the first week in June, then look at the weather forecast. If it has all nightime teps above 50 and has decent forecas, I go to wid breaks. I did mine last night.

Another factor is usually when you know you can start burying your vines. If you are out 5 ft or more, you can get outside of hoop houses and start some burying which will provide some more anchoring effects in about a week after you start burying.

And better yet, another piece of advice, leave the hoop structure up for a while. If you have to for a unexpected storm, you could cover it back up pretty quick. Agree with Wiz, hail storm protection, you never know.

By outgrow I mean when the side vines start to touch the sides of the hoop house.
