are you using Azospirillum? why?

are you NOT using Azospirillum? why not? what are your fears or concerns?

I am thinking about trying it on one plant to see how it does. From my reading, it seems that it shouldn't increase nitrogen fixation more than around 5%, so I don't fear run away growth. Given that increased nitrogen fixation does not fully explain yield increases, perhaps it will have many other benefits.

Fears? What fears could you have about Azospirillum?
The plus side of it includes:
Increased root lenght and size, increased root hairs, this works in favor of mycorrhiza, increased roots means increased nutrients, water, better foundation, better drought tolerence, increased resistance to stress, less need for fertilizers, this has been important in impoverished countries, less ferts means less run off into drinking supplies and less damage to soil over time. Azospirillum has other beneficial properties applied as a foliar which include retarding the process that makes fruit drop from the vines (I believe it retards the chemical process) meaning more growth time, this has been documented with several crops..I could go on and on.....but yes, I am using it...lol

Tom, I agree that it looks like there could be a lot of benefits. I am surprised that more people aren't giving the Azos a try.

Pete,
Most werent using mycorrhiza at first either. It takes time to see other growers success, then it becomes a part of the normal routine.
