Hello, been born mine pumpkin from a month introduces of the splits in the branches. From what they can be caused?

Hello,if the split is dry, no problem, I got the same problem in some plants in the past years, all plants survived, and got nice fruit at the end of the season, I don't know really why it happen Ciao Sergio

sometimes you can get splits in the mains due to excessive nitrogen,etc. other times its just a freakish thing that will happen to the best of plants with no excessive nitrogen,etc, in the soil. if i get a split on the main i will usually wrap some gauze bandage ( or any breathable material ) around the split to keep the bugs and boarers out. in time the split will also heal when your vine tips blow up? you are really in trouble. definately to much ferts. pap
