If you have a decent soil thermometer you can unplug the cables around 80-85*F. I believe all the decent cables already shutoff by themselves???
Don't try to remove them. They'll still be there when the season ends.

Some of the heavier duty heat cables have automatic built in thermostat, they come on about 50 and turn off about 75. If not you will have to monitor with a soil thermometer. I'd say unplug at 75 or you'll fry the plants... and yes, you leave them in until you clear patch off in fall.

yep the best part of heating cables is they have a thermostst that keeps the temp at 72 degrees (at all times- unless you unplug them -lol ) we keep ours plugged in until late july. then carefully remover for reuse at seasons end.
heating cables, lighting and plant covers are a new plants best friends.all can be used at the descression of the grower..
