Well, lets look at it this way. Whatever does survive this year is bound to be an absolute monster.

I thought it was just me. 50 % germination and deformed leaves on what went in the ground. It is only my second year and I think I'll be off and running soon, but wow!

Just when you think everything is against you, do try and remember our loved ones and friends that have passed that no longer get to enjoy a hobby. I know that once I think of that everything else is cake.

My first two had terrible cots and never developed good roots. A week after starting those, I started the ones that are in the ground now. Oh well..

Well Pat, Thomas washed out (damned shame, four years of patch soil work GONE) so gonna be us I guess.

As for plants in ground I have five of the first batch and added three... and had raggy starting, cold spikes and all that.

My 2 best seeds both came up so slow and small that they were not even worth planting. My backup seeds all came up great. The same potting soil same grow temp all in the same batch under the same conditions how the heck does this happen. But I got a 1385 plant that was an extra from a friend and it looks great. I agree on a tough start to say the least.

6 for 6 here with main and backup plants, and I'm only a rookie. It just so happens the one I wanted to plant the most was the first to germ and is also the best looking of them all. I guess I'm just lucky. :)

Every seed germinated but the two most desired are the weakest of the lot. Its been cool & cloudy so the fact we're late probably won't matter much.
