Would you use white plastic on your hoop houses? A local nursery was disposing of their old (white) plastic , that had been used on their nursery hoops. It just doesnt seem to let as much light though as compared to translucent...It was free, but??.I appreciate any feedback.

I've wondered this as well since we have huge white bags left over when purchasing wood pellets by the pallet. I think I heard that greenhouse people that sell plants use it because the plants won't grow wildly out of control as they try to keep sellable nice looking plants for the customers.I wonder how if a plant could survive with that kind of shading.

It does not heat up as quick inside then... It reflects the suns rays. Same reason they have black shade clothes on them it absorbs the heat.

I wouldnt sounds risky compare temp inside clear vs white whatever you use make shure you can lock it up so someone don't take your plant out and put in his 958! good luck this year Jim where off and runnin.

thanks for the responses ( two of them anyway)..I did switch to clear. temps went up 15 degrees immediately! Wow, and I noticed camoflouged footprints around my huts... I'm setting traps. JR
