This is the seed I,m growing this year. It's from the 1689. I'd like to hear from someone who knows about this seed. My second plant is the 1270 Marsh, out of the 1248 ford and the 1041 McKie. Any Info?

My 1117.5 was grown from the 1347 Wallace and I crossed it with the 1689 Jutras. You can email me at [email protected] if you would like. Peter

My 1041 cross plant has 10" leaves and is starting to run at about a foot. no sign of ribbon vining. The rondeau is only at the 4 leaf stage but also looks healthy. If only I can keep the Pumpkins gaining weight past August 15th. This is my downfall. I shade the pumpkin like the message board says but it always happens. What else to try?

plants just put in the ground now should be at or about at their prime or peak daily weight cycle during mid august.

if yours always stop by this period there could be many things that contribute. soil health ? whats are you adding? whats in there already that may halt growth

without a complete picture no one can accurately tell you what may be wrong.

I am switching to organic this year. Last year with miracle grow, I grew a 1013 and am hoping to top that this year. Any advice as to how to achieve that would be appreciated. Particularily I am wondering what to feed with the waterings and any good information on compost tea and what to add underneath the leaf roots before I bury the vines.

Pap, My soil test was pretty much o.k. I had a salt problem two years ago but it's down to .04 now. I have used a lot of horse manure, some fresh but dried out- put on the patch in the fall. Also some composted two years. 1000 squ. ft. patch. also added 100 lbs gypsum for calcium. 65 million year old humates, or humic acid 10 lbs worth. used Alaska fish fertilizer alternated with peters 20-20-20 foiliar feed. Sandy loam soil. Kept wet but not too wet. Work at home so I"m always there to tend to it. Sure do love the Hobby, and envy the big hitters.
