also the almost 24 hour days in summer in Alaska cant hurt. I doubt that does not effect the plant growth.

Actually, I don't think that really helps. Studies show that plants do better with night and day instead of constant light.

i almost called it off this year. i am unprepared my soil is somewhat out of balance. i don't have the equiptment needed. i'm running 2 weeks behind. i just made a compost tea brewer. waiting for the air pump! hurry hurry!! i should have my ammendments in tommorow and tilled. need another soil test. lol. need shade cloth, water timer, mist system, compost for a soil cover. what am i doing? i'm going for it. someone help me!!! i've been bit!!! by the pumpkin bug. lol.
