"Some people believe that without history, our lives amount to nothing. At some point we all have to choose: do we fall back on what we know, or do we step forward to something new? It's hard not to be haunted by our past. Our history is what shapes us... what guides us. Our history resurfaces time after time after time. So we have to remember sometimes the most important history is the history we’re making today." Meredith, Grey's Anatomy

The only thing that is history is the affordability of this hobby.

Who'd ever think the day would come that growing pumpkins would become a "rich man's" hobby???

Yep looking through some diaries lately...heck people are almost buying crews to work on their patches. Some are probally even paying illegals to do their work.

If growing the biggest pumpkins requires the fattest wallet well that would kind of suck. That was one of my first questions when deciding to start growing the Ags. Does it take a green thumb or a green walet.

All I know is that the Wiz has fun at what he does and that is the most important thing.

Everything is a choice. I decided to go more intensive this year, and I budgeted along and carefully made decisions and purchases. And I still am. I could have bought a lot of other more needful things than say... a 5# bag of myco...

It's not a rich man's hobby. Plenty of sweat is still going into this effort!

I wouldn't say I bought a crew, but I am not in the best of shape or health and some things I just can not do. So if I want to grow I have to have it done for me. I accept that as a fact of growing.

Everything is a choice. We share through this site, how to do this or that, but in the end it's still the grower's choice. And the part that counts is the results.

If I was growing just for prize $... forget it. I am doing this because I want to, and the way I'm choosing to do it.

Whoa, ok re-reading my post it seems like I put the "GLOOM AND DOOM" on this thread. Not my intention sorry Wiz!

Obviously we all still have a ton of fun no matter the budget or goal. Lots of neat things happening and we certainly wish everyone the best of luck this year with whatever their goals may be.

Wiz and the biz secretly use rats to naw the weeds in their patch.

Rats are their workers(poor thing) who only get food when the patch is weed free. Yr of the rat was first yr using rats as helpers.

so thats wiz and biz helpers,
lol.
