I've given up on growing pumpkins, i'm a 12 year old kid, i'd rather hang out with friends and go break stuff. Instead of wasting my life at the age of 12 growing giant plants!

I wouldnt call it wasting your life.

I am 29 and am passionate over this hobby. Most people my age are into partying and stuff.

Do what makes you happy, and 1 more thing..............never EVER give up.

Wow! good luck with that. what happened to the 275 van hook that came up ? you will be back! If you only grow 2 or 3 plants it dosn't take up your life. Or maybe I am just rambling on and he is sand bagging big time.

Hey JA,

One idea is to just grow without any expectations on how big they should get. You know just have a bit of fun with it on the side while spending most of your time hanging out. If the fruit are small enough come fall, you and your friends can find creative ways to smash 'em. brian

You know, you could always just start a plant or two, pop it in the ground and take what you get, good or bad. You don't have to try for a worlds record. Just shoot for a large jack o lantern at Halloween.

at your age you should be out with your friends anyway.the hobby was not intended for a 12 year. at your age your needs and desires change often as much as you change your clothing.
