Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. Its been awhile. Somehow I give it up every fall, and then start taking it up again in the spring. So anyone ever use an Aerogarden to germinate? Just thinking here, its time. Although I could be fishing, I'm better at that anyway.

i have one of the $150.00 units that i bought my wife to grow winter herbs in . i tried a test with some pumpkin seeds. i liked the idea of the air injection into the water, sort of a hydroponic type starting system. would suggest also putting the base on a heat mat because if not the water stays to cold.( also would suggest a hood of plastic wraped around the light hood and body to help hold in the heat. may also need to place a small piece of sponge or wettable paper around the lightly filed seed.
you also have to realize that in such a small holding chamber for the seed that you would need to pull it out asap after root starts to develop. definately a good possibility for pre-germinating seeds before they see soil. should do more testing next winter
quite possibly its a lot of work to reinvent the wheel. sometimes the old ways are athe best.----- pap

Thanks Pap. I think I'll give it a whirl just for the heck of it. My brother grows exotic chilis, he swears by these for germination and does well. Like you said regardling the AG's, if they germ they arn't staying in there more than a day!
