Hi all. I am looking for some input on what different weigh-offs give (if anything) for a freebie to a grower when they register. We have given t-shirts for many years now and feel it may be time to change things up a bit.
That being said, we are also firm believers in not fixing something if it is not broken, so if the t-shirt is the item that growers want to receive, we need to know that too.
This post is basically a brain-storm to see what other weigh-offs are doing and what you, the growers, would like to receive.

I know the weighoff at the Oakland nursery in Columbus Ohio gives free t-shirts & a free lunch to the competitor & his family. I was there last weekend picking up some annuals for my flower beds & they told me that they are working on having The Montgomery Inn cater it this year. For those not familiar the Montgomery Inn is the best bar-b-que anywhere. And there is no entry fee.

The Circleville Pumpkin Show gives medallions(worn around the neck) with the Pumpkin Show logo on the front and the year on the back.

Geeze thanks for the warning Pap, I already feel like I got beaten up a few times this year.... even if I'm a member I'm gonna get trampled? Better bring a cooler of brewskis then if I come east.....
I have a feeling it's going to be skicaps here; if you enter, if I get knitting. Siiiigh. I'd love to do tees, still futzing with the transfer thing I bought last year.

Last yr the Colorado Springs Weigh off gave a Free bag of organic garden fertilizer. Everyone who entered got a 15 pound bag. I use it on my garlic.

Jareds gave out Organic fertZ too to all who entered their fruit into competition. I like the medallions part, we need some sponsorship nation wide as our sport is growing on the community........

I think the greatest prize would be a couple of seeds from everyones entry last year! And a promise to send you a few seeds from every one of the top 10 weighed this year!

We like the idea of pumpkin tape measures (the good ones that you reel in) &/or hats. We got enough seeds & get a lot more every year through club memberships & trades.
