Although an advocate of bio.l control whenever possible, sometimes it's nessesary to 'step it up a notch'...what are our options now for SVB? Will nematodes work? From what I hear, home gardens are included in the ban. (we can discuss 'in code' if nessesary;)

Am I to understand that there is now a pesticide ban in Canada?. If so, which kinds are prohibited? What prompted the ban? What are the penalties for violating it?

Pretty much EVERYTHING is on the list.

Probably going to have a lot of "midnight" spraying in dark clothing.

The pesticide ban is fairly wide spread here in Ontario. We are unable to apply insectides or fungicides legally. Unfortunatly, this will lead to many gowers, breaking the law and applying anyway.
No question, Vine Borers will be a challange

There appears to be 'poison Ivy' growing at the edges of my patch now and subterrestrial yellow jacket nests ...Guess i got an "infestation" (looks like our only legal option for spray:(

i have had watering restrictions here in joliet almost every year. take a guess if i still watered when needed if it wasn't at my alloted date or time to water. when it is a hundo degrees out, my misters come on at intervals all day every day. i also will roll through stop signs and sometimes make right turns on a red when the sign says no turn on red. i guess the penalties make the ultimate decision to bend or break the laws. it is a lot of work to do to be taken down by the svbs without the use of the good stuff.

I will be using Diamatacious Earth and Bio Repel this year to see if this will work on Cuc beetles and as far as Svb's I think the DE might work but will have to be more dillegent on inspection of the plant.
