This year makes twenty that ron and i have been growing together. During this period we have so much to be thankful for. we made an awful lot of good, life long, friends, experienced the highs of a world record one /two finish in 2006 to the lows of having nothing come weigh off day. We have seen a seed of ours not only become the number one seed in the world ? , but along with it help build the reputation and fortunes of a giant pumpkin organization. A very nice lady once became so involved in our passions that she wrote a book called "back yard giants " The Orange Angles Foundation came about a couple years ago and has taken on a life of its own, thanks in large part to SO many good hearted friends and growers. Ron and i will be stepping down as officers in the SNGPG after the 2009 season. Ron will spend more time concentrating on research and development. i will continue building the immage and services of the oaf. My plan is to get government exemption status so all donors may claim there donations, continue to sell dicks tips 2, possibly run a top level seed promo (limited packages), possibly a small auction lot, as well as other interesting fund raisers. I would also continue to seek out new locations and site directors for the oaf ( there are children in need everywhere - ya cant always wait for the other person to do something) I am also planning several one of a kind wallace crosses this season which will also be made available to oaf charities. Thanks guys and gals. its been a great run Pap

The Wallaces have truly been great ambassadors of this hobby and I want to wish them much luck in their future pursuits. Thanks for all you've done Ron and Dick.

Amen. Sadness you're stepping down, happiness you're moving on to other things... and still staying 'in the hobby'! There's no thanks big enough for what you and Ron have done for this obsession/hobby/passion, on all fronts.

Thanks for all the work you have done pap and ron. One question pap, Will Ron still be writing for the SNGPG newsletters?

Thank you for everything you have done for this 'sport'... the book was very inspirational, and partially responsible for my latest obsession... You, your son, your club and the people you inspired in the early years are some of the key pioneers that have made my beginning years so much easier.......your efforts are well appreciated!!! The OAF are a fortunate bunch to have you on board.... Good luck and Good growing to you and Ron this year....
Cheers....

ron will write some articles from time to time and of course i will always continue to support the sngpg in any way possible.we are to much like a family for anything different.
Director Steve Connolly (MA) has been a very big part of the newsletter publications for the past three years and will continue on in that capacity. Director Matt Debacco (CT) will take rons spot. a new president Director Joe Jutras(RI) and vice president /treasurer Director Pete Rondeau (RI),have already agreed to step in.
change is not only good but is warrented at some point in any organization. new blood, new ideas, a new out look .its all good.
