Wondering If anyone could tell me what this is? http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=102165 I found this growing ontop of soil under a styrofoam box that was used to hold the heat in over a section of heated ground(73 degree, soil warming cables)in one of the hoops? I did onnoculate the soil with Mycorrhizae fungi spores. Could this be germinated Myco spores? Thanks Bumkin

I get that in my pots when I start seedlings with Mycorr, it doesn't seem to hurt anything , but what it is I haven't got a clue,,, I just mix the white moldy looking stuff back down into the soil with my fingers. So far my apple tree seedlings and peach seedlings are doing great, hasn't seemed to bother them any for the past couple months that they have been in the pots.

I think Brooks nailed it. Kinda like the white fluffy stuff that grows on the surface of your pots. Gently rub it away and you should be fine.

Hes right though, I mixed it back into the soil using my fingers and then accidentally touched my eyes about a hour later,,,,, and now all I can see is shadows out of my left eye and nothing out of my right, Im hoping the hearing loss is only temporary since I must have touched my ears also. I dont have any fingers anymore and Im typing this message by using a pencil in my mouth and hitting the keys.

I also experienced this growth in a WiZZy experiment last week. On my tomatos I used some Myco....brand 2 B un-unamed. I also put in a control pot with blue grass WO Mycho, and One with. I got the cotton fungus bad. The tomato seedlings all died off poor growth..all were affected, last year my peppers did the same thing. This year I left it out and my peppers did great. I did send it out to be tested....We will see . Pics to post later
