How do you guys feel about it? I think it should've been a lot heavier because of being crossed with the 1502 Wallace and 1689 Jutras. Can't ask for much better of a cross than that. Maybe it was just a bad season or something. If you guys think it's a good seed, give me some tips on what you think would be a good cross for it.

The plant that Don grew for that cross and a few more were just for genetics.

I bought his 400 Langavin cross 1689 Jutras x 1631 Mckie, because I liked the genetics, the package says grown forgenetics not competition.

I got some of those too. (900 est Langevin)
I grew his 1018 in 2008, and so did Dwight (EastKyPumpkin) and it had good potential but.
As for what to cross with it, what else do you have or what pollen can you trade?

Most of the plants Don grows these days are just genetics patches, sometimes he keeps several sets on plants.
I got a 400 est seed from him that is 1502 Wallace x self. The plant it grew on grew 4 pumpkins, each weighing over 400 pounds, thats 1600+ on one plant, only grown to make the genetic cross.
Don has good seeds and makes good crosses.
as a side note, IMHO his 953 from 2002 is still makes the short list of best looking pumpkins too.
